Clayton Utz

Clayton Utz advises major telcos, television broadcasters, government agencies, regulators, equipment suppliers, print and digital publishers, online service providers, new media companies, content providers, media personalities and their agents. Our lawyers have an intimate knowledge of these highly regulated and changing industries. We advise on the various obligations imposed by the Telecommunications Act 1997, the anti-competitive conduct and service access regimes under the Trade Practices Act 1974 and all issues within the Broadcasting Services Act 1992. We also understand the issue of convergence, which brings together a variety of legal questions surrounding telecommunications, IT, television, the Internet and content production. Our practice is complemented by our ability to advise on corporate and transactional issues in major mergers and acquisitions, and advice on copyright and other intellectual property issues.
