Paul Mallam is recognised as one of Australia's leading media lawyers.  He practises in all aspects of media and communications law.  Paul is the joint practice head of Blake Dawson Waldron's information technology, communication and media group.

Paul has advised virtually every major legal and commercial development in the industry over the past decade.  He advises clients on foreign investment in the Australian communications sector, strategic mergers, acquisitions and divestments, joint ventures, regulatory and competition issues.  He also represents clients before government authorities, tribunals and courts.  Paul also deals with immigration issues for clients of the firm.

Paul is listed in the Euromoney's Guide to the Best Communications Lawyers and Guide to the Best Competition Lawyers publications based on international peer review of expertise.  He has also been ranked as a "leading individual" by Chambers Global (2007) and PLC Which Lawyer? Telecommunications (2005/06).  Paul is the co-author of the Media and Internet Law and Practice and other legal publications.
