Simone MurrayDr Simone Murray is a Lecturer in the School of English, Communications & Performance Studies at Monash University, Clayton campus, Melbourne. She has completed a three-year ARC postdoctoral fellowship investigating the multi-platforming of media content and the effects of this process on a variety of communications stakeholders: global corporate media; public service broadcasters; media policy-makers; content creators; and media users. This research has generated articles in the journals Media, Culture & Society, Convergence: The Journal of Research into New Media Technologies, Media International Australia incorporating Culture & Policy, Continuum: Journal of Media & Cultural Studies and M/C: Media/Culture.She is also author of the first critical monograph analysing gender politics and the contemporary book publishing industry, Mixed Media: Feminist Presses and Publishing Politics (London: Pluto, 2004). Mixed Media was awarded the 2005 DeLong Book Prize by the international scholarly association Society for the History of Authorship, Reading & Publishing (SHARP) for 'the best book on any aspect of the creation, dissemination, or uses of script or print published in the previous year'. Her research about the interface of the book with other media industries appears in Publishing Research Quarterly (forthcoming), the International Journal of the Book, Women's Studies International Forum, European Journal of Women's Studies, and Women: A Cultural Review.
