Danny Kotlowitz

Danny Kotlowitz is a lawyer in Telstra’s Competition and Regulatory Group.  His Australian practice focuses on competition law and wireless spectrum regulation.  He also provides advice to Telstra’s offshore businesses on regulatory issues.  His recent work for Telstra includes a lead role in obtaining OFTA approval for CSL Hong Kong’s merger with New World Mobile, and regulatory advice on Sensis’ acquisition of SouFun Holdings.
 
Over the past two years Danny has acted as Telstra’s representative to the Australian government on trade law issues, particularly in bilateral free trade agreement negotiations and disputes, new WTO accessions and the Doha Round.  Danny studied trade law at the University of Toronto, where he completed a LLM and was awarded the WCG Howland Graduate Prize for overall best achievement.  He also holds B.Bus.Sci (Hons) and LLB degrees from the University of Cape Town.

Prior to Telstra, Danny was employed by Mallesons Stephen Jaques in Melbourne, and Edward Nathan & Friedland in Johannesburg.  He began his career working on the privatisation of broadcasting services following the transition to democracy in South Africa, acting for Primedia Broadcasting and as a researcher for the Independent Broadcasting Authority of South Africa.
