Kate Jordan is a partner in Corporate group at Clayton Utz with a focus on media and communications.  She acts for various media industry participants in respect of content acquisition/exploitation and transactional work.  Significant matters have included:
  • acting for Seven Network on various aspects of its involvement in the Olympic Games;
  • acting for Seven Network in the acquisition by Seven and Ten of AFL television rights;
  • acting for Seven Network on its acquisition of minority interests in MNet Corporation and engin;
  • acting for the unincorporated joint venture between South African Rugby Football Union, New Zealand Rugby Football Union Inc and Australian Rugby Union Limited ("SANZAR") in relation to the reconstitution of SANZAR and the global sale of broadcasting rights to the Tri-Nations series, in-bound bound tours and Super 14 Competition;
  • acting for the Australian Olympic Committee and International Olympic Committee in the successful litigation concerning copyright ownership of the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games films;
  • acting in the sale of The Communications Group to WPP.
