Greg Flavel

Greg is a Principal of Convergent Consulting, a company providing strategic advisory and investment services to the converging telecommunications and media industries. He possesses over 12 years experience in the IT&T industry, functioning as both a senior industry consultant and executive.
 
His past clients include industry players such as Telstra, PowerTel, AAPT, Leighton Holdings, Time Telecommunications (Malaysia), BCL (New Zealand), Oni (Portugal), and Crown Castle; industry investors such as Hastings Funds Management, Deutsche Bank, Macquarie Bank, as well as industry regulators and policy developers, such as IBA (South Africa), ACMA, the ACCC and DCITA.
 
Greg’s consulting career, before joining Convergent, included consulting for KPMG and McKinsey and Company for over 8 years. Before embarking on his consulting career, Greg was a telecommunications engineer and economist at Optus Communications. During this period Greg gained an intimate ‘hands-on’ familiarity with assessing the viability and risks associated with the deployment of new communications networks and services in highly competitive environments. Prior to joining Optus, Greg was a senior project manager/systems engineer with Honeywell Ltd for 6 years.
 
Greg’s qualifications include a Masters of Business Administration and a BE(Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Adelaide.
