Jerome Fahrer

Jerome Fahrer is Director of the Allen Consulting Group, where he heads ACG’s competition and telecommunications practices.  He also advises corporate and government clients on the economic evaluation of major projects.

Jerome has advised the G9 group of telecommunications companies on competition in fibre-to-the-node networks, telecommunications regulators in Australia and New Zealand, Optus on competition in local call resale and broadband, Macquarie Bank on telecommunications competition and regulation, and many corporates on mergers and other trade practices matters.

His current research interests are in exclusionary practices in telecommunications and broadband policy.

Jerome is a Principal Fellow (Associate Professor) at the Melbourne Business School and a member of the Appeal Panel Pool of the Essential Services Commission in Victoria

Jerome was educated at the University of New South Wales and Princeton University. Prior to joining the Allen Consulting Group, Jerome was a senior official of the Reserve Bank of Australia.  He has published numerous articles in economics journals and conference volumes.
