Chris Atkins, Partner, Communications & High Tech Strategy, Accenture

Chris Atkins is a Partner in Accenture's Sydney office and leads the Australia and New Zealand Media and Entertainment Practice and the Communications and High Tech. Strategy & Business Architecture service line.

Chris specialises in the telecommunications, media & entertainment and electronics and high technology sectors and has experience in both the business and technical fields. Since joining Accenture he has worked on market entry strategy, growth strategy, marketing strategy, joint venture opportunities, business case development, process re-engineering and customer sales and service strategy. Chris has worked in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and in many countries in Asia.

Before joining Accenture in 1995, Chris worked for British Telecommunications as a business manager in  the research and development laboratories where he was responsible for a range of technical services for a UK government client. He has also led a research and development group and spent a number of years as a research scientist working on advanced fibre optic based transmission systems. Before joining BT he was briefly on the staff of the Physics Department of Imperial College, London.

Chris has published extensively in the scientific literature and at major international conferences. He is a frequent speaker on industry topics in both public and private client environments. He holds a first class honours degree and doctorate in Chemistry from Oxford University in the UK and an MBA, with distinction, from INSEAD in France.
