Amanda Harkness

Group General Counsel & Company Secretary, ASX Limited

Amanda is responsible for the provision of legal services across the ASX Group and is a member of the ASX Group's executive management committee.

Amanda has held senior advisor roles practising as a corporate, securities and technology partner at the Australian law firm Freehills (1986 – 1992) and as a business consultant at McKinsey & Co.  Ms Harkness has held executive management roles in Telstra with portfolio responsibilities at different times across legal, regulatory and marketing functions and held product, business development, investor and operational executive responsibilities in a start up joint venture funded by British Telecom and Looksmart.

Amanda has worked for businesses in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Korea, Hong Kong and Japan across the financial services, telecommunications and technology development, mining, resources and electricity industries.  She has served on a number of Federal Government advisory boards focused on innovation, trade, industry research and development.

Ms Harkness is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
