Amanda Harkness

Head of Legal, Markets & Technology, Australian Stock Exchange 

Amanda's experience with developing businesses deploying new technologies and the internet is extensive.

Previously Amanda was responsible for the Asian regional operations of BTLooksmart. Her roles have included general management and strategy roles in Telstra Corporation, Australia's largest telecommunications and internet business; as a consultant at McKinsey & Co., she served companies in the telecommunications, communications, multimedia, energy and financial services sectors in Australia and the Asian region; and in the 1980s she established one of the first legal practices focused on the legal and regulatory challenges for the industry as a Partner in one of Australia's leading commercial law firms.

She has a Bachelor of Laws First Class Honours and Bachelor of Economics from the Australian National University, Master of Arts in Communications from Macquarie University and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
